Privacy Policy
What Logosmose collects, why, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have.
Introduction
Logosmose is a skill-based written-thinking contest, graded by artificial intelligence, with a public ranking. We respect your privacy and collect as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. This version of Logosmose is free and involves no payments, so we never collect payment or financial information.
This explains what personal data Logosmose collects, why, and your choices. We collect as little as we can, and — since this version is free — never any payment data.
What we collect
When you create an account we collect: your email address; a securely hashed password (we never store your password in readable form); your date of birth (used only to confirm you are 18 or older); your public pseudonym; and your chosen pixel-art avatar.
As you use the service we store the answers you submit and their AI scores, the theme of each question, your hide and block choices, the reports you file, your language and cookie-consent preferences. For security, fraud prevention and abuse handling we may store technical data such as internet protocol (IP) addresses that identify your device on the internet, and session identifiers.
We do not collect your real name, contacts, precise location, payment details, or special-category data.
We collect your email, a scrambled password, your birth date (only to check you are 18+), your nickname and avatar, plus your answers and scores, and what you hide, block or report. For safety we may log technical data like your device’s internet (IP) address. No real name, no location, no payment data.
How we use your data
We use your data to run the service: to create and secure your account, to generate your question, to grade your answer and estimate how likely it was written by an AI, to display your answers under your pseudonym, to compute the public ranking, to operate moderation and reporting, and to send you the emails you asked for.
Your answers appear publicly with your pseudonym, theme and score only — never your email, date of birth or real identity. Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in, and you can opt out at any time from Settings. Essential service messages (sign-in verification, security, and moderation or account notices) are not marketing and are always sent.
We use your data to run the app: make questions, grade answers, show them under your nickname, build the ranking, run moderation, and send emails you asked for. Your email and real identity are never shown. You can turn off marketing emails anytime; important account emails are always sent.
Moderation, reports and warnings
Before an answer is stored or graded, we automatically screen its text for severe or abusive content; a rejected answer is not stored, graded or shown. When an answer is reported, we process its text to review its severity again. We keep the records needed to enforce our Terms: whether an answer was reported or removed, the reports you send, and any warnings issued to an account.
Warnings are counted per calendar year and may lead to a 30-day account suspension after a third confirmed severe violation, followed by permanent deletion if the suspension is not overturned, as described in our Terms of Use. When you report an answer, we show you the outcome in the app. These records are necessary for the safety and integrity of the service.
Answers are automatically checked for severe content before they’re graded, and reported answers are reviewed again. We keep records of reports, removals and warnings. A third serious violation in a year suspends the account for 30 days, then deletes it if the appeal fails. You’re shown the result of your report in the app.
Artificial intelligence providers and what we share
Logosmose uses trusted third-party artificial intelligence services to provide its features. The text of your answers, questions and pseudonyms may be sent to these providers strictly to deliver the feature concerned:
• OpenAI — generating questions, contributing to grading, estimating AI-written likelihood, screening pseudonyms, and assessing content severity when an answer is posted and when it is reported. • Anthropic — contributing to grading (relevance and reasoning). • Perplexity — contributing to grading (accuracy), using public sources. • Google (Gemini) — contributing to grading (clarity and concision).
We share only what each task needs — for example, the text of an answer to grade it, a pseudonym to screen it, or the text of a reported answer to assess its severity. We do not send these providers your email address, password or date of birth. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use your submissions to identify you. AI outputs may contain errors and are not statements of fact.
We use outside AI tools to do their jobs: OpenAI (questions, grading, AI-detection, pseudo screening, moderation), Anthropic, Perplexity and Google (grading). We only send them what they need — like an answer’s text — never your email, password or birth date.
Cookies
Logosmose uses cookies grouped into four categories, which you control from the cookie banner and from Settings:
• Essential — sign-in, session security, fraud prevention, your live attempt timer, and the language/region resolved from your request. These are always on because the app cannot run without them. • Functional (optional) — remembering your palette, density and last view. No identifiers are shared outside Logosmose. • Analytics (optional) — anonymous, aggregated product analytics to help us improve the competition. No third-party fingerprinting. • Marketing (optional, off by default) — off-platform campaign attribution, used only if you opt in.
You can accept all, reject the non-essential ones, or choose per category, at any time.
Four cookie groups: Essential (always on, keeps the app working), Functional, Analytics, and Marketing (off by default). You choose which optional ones to allow — accept all, reject non-essential, or pick per category — anytime.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; deletion is permanent and removes your account details and preferences.
Because the public ranking and feed are core to how Logosmose works, your submitted answers and their scores are public and may be retained indefinitely, including after account deletion, together with aggregate statistics that contain no personal data. If your account is suspended for a third severe violation, your data is kept during the 30-day suspension so the decision can be contested, and is permanently deleted afterwards unless the suspension is overturned. Some records required for security or to enforce our Terms (such as warning history) may be retained for as long as necessary and then deleted.
We keep your data while your account exists; delete it anytime and your account details go away. But public answers and scores may stay forever (that’s how the ranking works), along with anonymous stats. A suspended account is kept 30 days so you can appeal, then deleted if the appeal fails.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise the most common of these directly in the app: change your language and cookie preferences, unsubscribe from marketing, or delete your account from Settings. For any other request, contact us at contact@logosmose.com.
We do not use your data for automated advertising profiling, and we do not sell your personal data. Note that publicly submitted answers cannot be made private retroactively — deletion removes your account, but public answers may remain as described above.
You can access, correct, delete or export your data, object to some uses, and withdraw consent — most of it right in the app. We never sell your data or use it for ad profiling. Public answers can’t be made private after the fact.
Compliance and independence
Logosmose operates in compliance with applicable privacy laws, including the GDPR where it applies. We are an independent platform and take no political side. Data may be processed in countries outside your own; where required for transfers of EU personal data, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
We follow privacy laws (including the GDPR where it applies), stay independent, and use proper safeguards when data crosses borders.
